Circumstances:
On 20th September 2023, during aerial firefighting operations near Aratula, QLD, a Bell 204B helicopter, operated by Forest Air Helicopters, collided with a dam and subsequently sank. The pilot, the sole occupant, managed to escape and swim to safety. The aircraft was reported as “written off” due to significant damage.
