Incident Overview
A fatal two-vehicle crash occurred on Kirkland Road in Durack , a northern suburb of Palmerston, Northern Territory , on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 , at approximately 5:10 am .

The collision involved a Toyota Corolla and a Nissan X-trail , both sustaining severe damage. Emergency crews had to extricate occupants from both vehicles , with one person — a woman — pronounced dead at the scene .

The remaining three — the Toyota driver and two male passengers (aged 37 and 19) from the Nissan — were taken to Royal Darwin Hospital with serious injuries, including suspected internal bleeding and limb fractures .

NT Police have linked the incident to the Fatal Five road safety risks and reminded all drivers to avoid drinking, fatigue, distraction, speeding , and to always wear their seatbelt .

This is the 12th fatality on NT roads this year.
