What happened

Incident Overview

A woman has died in hospital following a serious two-vehicle crash in East Toowoomba. Just after midnight on Saturday, March 25, 2023, a blue Ford Fairmont travelling northbound on Mackenzie Street left the road and crashed into a tree, with an 18-year-old female passenger and 20-year-old male driver both transported to hospital in critical condition.

The 18-year-old female passenger died in hospital on Sunday, March 26, 2023. Queensland Police attended the scene and have launched a full investigation into the circumstances of the crash.

The collision occurred on Mackenzie Street in East Toowoomba, Queensland, just after midnight on Saturday, March 25, 2023.

Emergency Response

Queensland Ambulance Service and Queensland Police attended the scene following the crash. Both the 18-year-old female passenger and 20-year-old male driver were transported to Toowoomba Hospital in critical condition.

Investigation

Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Police are appealing for anyone who saw the blue 2007 Ford Fairmont sedan prior to the incident, or who has relevant CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward with information.
