Incident Overview
A 17-year-old Collingwood Park boy has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death or grievous bodily harm following a fatal crash in Goodna on 11 March 2026. Police allege a Mitsubishi Lancer was travelling west on Brisbane Road before crossing onto the wrong side of the road and colliding with the Ipswich Motorway underpass at approximately 9pm. A 16-year-old passenger from Redbank Plains sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he was later declared deceased. The driver and another 16-year-old passenger from Redbank sustained injuries and were also transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Police Investigation
The 17-year-old driver has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death or grievous bodily harm. He is scheduled to appear in the Ipswich Children’s Court on 13 April 2026.
