On Tuesday, 5 June 2024, a three-year-old boy was fatally struck by a vehicle at the Rockhampton Showgrounds in Wandal, Queensland. Despite the immediate response from paramedics, the child could not be saved.

Emergency Response

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics responded swiftly to the scene and provided immediate medical assistance to the three-year-old boy. Despite their efforts, the child could not be resuscitated. A woman in her 40s was transported to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition.

Investigation

Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit is leading the investigation in collaboration with Workplace Health and Safety Queensland to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident. A report will be prepared for the coroner following the death of the three-year-old child.
