What happened

Incident Overview

On Tuesday, 23 July 2025, a tragic jet ski collision on the Georges River near Tom Uglys Bridge in Sylvania, southern Sydney, claimed the life of a 15-year-old boy and left a 14-year-old in critical condition with severe injuries.

NSW Police and paramedics responded immediately and entered the water to assist the victims. The 15-year-old could not be revived and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 14-year-old sustained a severed arm and was sedated at the scene before being transported under emergency conditions.

Emergency Response
