On Monday afternoon, September 30, 2024, a 15-year-old girl was killed in a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Deeragun Road and the Bruce Highway in Deeragun, North Queensland.

Details of the Crash

Just after 5:00 PM, the girl was riding her e-scooter when she collided with a Mitsubishi Pajero. Following the initial impact, she was then struck by a motorbike. Tragically, the 15-year-old girl from Townsville died at the scene. The 65-year-old motorbike rider sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The 36-year-old driver of the Pajero was not injured.

Investigation

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
