What happened

Incident Overview

On the night of Sunday, March 19, 2023, a serious single-vehicle traffic crash occurred on Chris Street in Redbank, Queensland. A vehicle collided with a parked truck and subsequently caught fire, trapping four occupants who were freed before the fire took hold. All four people sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Emergency Response

Queensland Police and emergency services responded to the scene at Chris Street, Redbank. Four occupants were trapped in the vehicle but were freed by responders prior to the fire taking hold. All four injured people were transported to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Investigation

Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit is leading the investigation into the crash. Investigators are working to establish whether the vehicle involved is the same one reported driving dangerously in the Redbank Plains area at approximately 11:00pm on the night of the incident. Police are appealing for witnesses and persons with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
