What happened

Incident Overview

On Tuesday, 30 May 2023, a serious two-vehicle collision occurred on Tara Kogan Road at Kogan in the early hours of the morning, resulting in three people injured. A Holden Colorado was struck from behind by a Nissan X-Trail at approximately 2:20am, causing the Holden to roll onto its side.

Queensland Police attended the scene and a 36-year-old man was arrested and is assisting police with their investigations into the crash.

The collision occurred on Tara Kogan Road at Kogan at approximately 2:20am on Tuesday, 30 May 2023.

  • 22-year-old male from Goranba (airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital, critical condition)
  • 20-year-old female from Tara (airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital, stable condition)
  • 2-year-old boy from Tara (transported to Tara Hospital, minor injuries)

Emergency Response

Queensland Ambulance Service and Queensland Police attended the scene. Two patients from the Holden Colorado were airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital; a third patient was transported by road ambulance to Tara Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Investigation

Queensland Police are investigating the crash. A 36-year-old man has been arrested and is assisting police with their investigations. Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision or motorists with dashcam footage to come forward to assist the investigation.
