Driver airlifted, students injured after crash involving special school bus and hay-laden B-double truck
Incident Overview
A serious traffic crash involving a school minibus and a B-double hay truck occurred on Thursday morning, 24 July 2025, near the intersection of Warracknabeal-Stawell Road and Minyip-Dimboola Road in Minyip, part of Victoria’s Wimmera region. The bus, transporting children from a special development school, flipped onto its roof. The truck also overturned.

- Female bus driver – trapped, sustained serious injuries, airlifted to The Alfred Hospital
- Two students – minor injuries, taken to hospital for observation
- Male truck driver – sustained injuries, taken to hospital and assisting police
- Uninjured: One student from the minibus
Crash Description
According to police, both vehicles overturned following a collision on a sweeping bend near the intersection. The bus ended up on its roof off the road, and the truck came to rest on its side. Early investigations suggest speed may have been a contributing factor.
Emergency crews from the Country Fire Authority and State Emergency Services responded to the scene and freed the bus driver.

Investigation
Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash, with early indications pointing to speed as a factor. Both drivers are cooperating with authorities. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
