Introduction
A 44-year-old man has tragically lost his life in a three-vehicle collision on Cessnock Road in Gillieston Heights, New South Wales. The incident occurred on Friday evening and is under investigation by NSW Police.

Crash Overview
The crash took place on Friday, August 2nd, 2024, at approximately 7:30 PM on Cessnock Road in Gillieston Heights, approximately 5 kilometers south of Maitland in the Hunter Valley region. Three vehicles were involved in the collision, resulting in the fatality of one driver.

Fatality and Injuries
The driver of one of the vehicles, a 44-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other drivers, a 40-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman, were treated at the scene by paramedics. The 40-year-old man was then transported to John Hunter Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigation
NSW Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Details regarding the cause of the incident have not yet been released. A report will be prepared for the coroner.
