On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, a fatal collision between a truck and a Mercedes-Benz sedan occurred on Liverpool Road at Ashfield, Sydney, at approximately 8:00am. The crash claimed the life of the 61-year-old truck driver, while the 30-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz was uninjured.

Emergency Response

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended the scene and provided treatment to the truck driver; however, he was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 30-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz was transported to Canterbury Hospital for mandatory testing as a precautionary measure.

NSW Police have launched a full investigation into the circumstances of the collision. Both vehicles have been seized and are undergoing forensic examination to determine the cause of the crash.
