Incident Overview
A 76-year-old man is fighting for life after being struck by his own ute while it was being stolen at a petrol station in Western Australia’s Kimberley region.

  • Isuzu D-Max ute towing a white caravan (stolen vehicle)

Injuries

  • Victim: 76-year-old man, sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Royal Darwin Hospital.
  • Offender: Unknown driver fled in the stolen ute.

Crash Description
The man had stopped at a service station on the Great Northern Highway and was inspecting his caravan when an unknown offender entered his parked Isuzu D-Max and drove off. In the process, the victim was struck by the vehicle and critically injured.

Investigation
Police are investigating the incident as both a serious crash and a criminal offence. The stolen ute and caravan are subjects of an ongoing search. Authorities are reviewing CCTV and appealing for further evidence.

Police have urged any witnesses or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage from the area to come forward immediately.
