On Saturday, 14 February 2026, a 47-year-old man was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident on Crawford Street, Richmond, west of Townsville. The driver failed to remain at the scene, and the injured pedestrian was transported to Richmond Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
