What happened

Incident Overview

A man has died following a single-vehicle rollover on the Carnarvon Highway south of St George on Wednesday, 24 August 2022. The 2017 white Isuzu D-MAX dual cab utility left the road and rolled approximately 15 kilometres south of St George, claiming the life of its sole occupant.

A passing motorist discovered the crash at around 6:30am and alerted emergency services. Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit investigators attended the scene and are now leading the investigation.

The collision occurred on the Carnarvon Highway approximately 15 kilometres south of St George, at around 6:30am on Wednesday, 24 August 2022.

Emergency Response

Emergency services attended the scene following the report from a passing motorist at approximately 6:30am. Queensland Police and Queensland Ambulance Service responded to the incident. The male driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigation

Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit investigators are leading the investigation into the circumstances of the rollover. Preliminary investigations indicate the Isuzu D-MAX left the road before rolling. Police are appealing for witnesses, particularly motorists with dashcam footage of the crash or the moments immediately preceding it, to come forward with information.
