A Dayboro woman died after a head-on crash between a Hyundai Kona and a Volkswagen Amarok on Mount Samson Road at Armstrong Creek on Wednesday, 19 August 2026. Queensland Police said emergency services were called at about 1.55pm.

Fatality and Injuries
- Fatality: The 72-year-old Dayboro woman driving the Hyundai died at the scene.
- Other injury: The 54-year-old woman driving the Amarok was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police Investigation
