A man has died following a fatal traffic crash involving two motorbikes in Dundas, Somerset, this morning (January 29).

Initial investigations indicate shortly before 8.00am, two motorbikes were travelling along Northbrook Parkway when they collided head on approximately one kilometre east of Northbrook Creek.

One rider, a 41-year-old Fitzgibbon man, sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.

The second rider, a 51-year-old Newmarket man, was transported to the Royal Brisbane Hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.

Any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision from the area is urged to contact police.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
