An 18-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle crash in rural north Queensland when a silver Toyota Hilux left the road and struck a power pole.

- Deceased: 18-year-old male passenger from Balberra, pronounced dead at the scene
- Injured: 18-year-old male driver from Beaconsfield, sustained minor injuries and transported to Moranbah Hospital
Crash Description
According to police, the Toyota Hilux left the roadway and collided with a power pole. The passenger sustained critical injuries and could not be revived. The driver received minor injuries and was taken to hospital for assessment.
Road and Traffic Impacts
Temporary traffic disruptions occurred while emergency services attended the scene and conducted an initial investigation.
Investigation
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and has appealed for any relevant CCTV or dashcam footage.
