What happened

Incident Overview

A motorcyclist died in a single-vehicle crash on Southern Cross Way at Hendra early on Thursday, 21 March 2024. At approximately 3:18am, the rider lost control of the motorcycle while travelling northbound just north of the East West Arterial Road and fell from the bike. The 49-year-old male rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Queensland Police and Queensland Ambulance Service attended the scene. The rider was pronounced deceased at the scene and no patient transport was required.

Investigation

Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit is leading the investigation into the circumstances of the crash. Police are appealing for anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage of Southern Cross Way in the vicinity of the East West Arterial Road around the time of the incident to come forward with information.
