Incident Overview
A five-year-old boy and a 34-year-old Baringa woman were seriously injured in a two-car collision at Currimundi on Friday, 26 June 2026.
Location and Time
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Bellara Drive and Nicklin Way at about 10.22pm.
Vehicles Involved
The collision involved two sedans. The woman was driving one car, while a 46-year-old Southside man was driving the other.
Injuries
The woman sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital. The boy, who was a passenger in the other car, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a stable condition. A 36-year-old Caloundra woman in the same car was not injured.
Police Investigation
The other driver is assisting police with their investigation.
