Incident Overview
A serious two-vehicle collision occurred on Tuesday evening, 5 August 2025, along the Sunshine Motorway in Marcoola on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. The incident left one man in critical condition.

  • Black SsangYong Musso utility

Injuries / Casualties

  • Critically Injured: 42-year-old Pacific Paradise man (driver and sole occupant of the Mazda 121)
  • Uninjured: 22-year-old Victoria man (driver and sole occupant of the SsangYong Musso)

Crash Description
Initial investigations indicate that the two vehicles were travelling in opposite directions on the Sunshine Motorway before colliding. The driver of the Mazda was critically injured and transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

Investigation
The Forensic Crash Unit (FCU) is conducting a thorough investigation to determine the events leading up to the collision. Police are appealing to the public for assistance, particularly those who may have dashcam or CCTV footage.
