Circumstances:

A fire in the cargo compartment of Pel-Air flight RXA9982, a Saab 340A (F), caused minor damage to the aircraft.

The crew received multiple warnings, including cargo smoke, avionics smoke, and cabin pressure, during the cruise. The crew then detected heavy smoke in the cockpit, donned oxygen masks, initiated an emergency descent, and redirected the aircraft to Cobar.

The post-flight inspection uncovered fire damage near the right air cycle machine and the cargo port floor.
