Circumstances:
The ATSB is looking into a helicopter crash that took place on August 7, 2023. The accident happened about 180km northwest of Borroloola in the Northern Territory, involving a Robinson R44 helicopter with the registration VH-HRB.
The helicopter crashed during take-off on a scenic flight carrying four people. Two passengers and the pilot suffered minor injuries, and the helicopter had significant damage.
As they investigate, ATSB officials will talk to the pilot, check any recordings, and gather any other necessary evidence.
Once the investigation is done, they’ll share their findings in a report. If they spot any urgent safety problems during the investigation, they’ll promptly alert the right people to address them.
