Circumstances:
On November 3, 2025, severe thunderstorms swept through Warwick, Queensland, causing significant damage to **Warwick Aerodrome** and several light aircraft parked on-site.
The storm, which may have included tornado-like winds, tore roofs from buildings and hangars, scattering debris across the airfield. Multiple privately owned light aircraft sustained substantial damage from flying debris and structural collapse. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Emergency services and Warwick Regional Council crews responded promptly to secure the site, assess damage, and clear hazards. Aviation operations at the aerodrome were temporarily suspended while cleanup efforts were underway.
Local weather reports indicated that this was the third consecutive day of severe thunderstorm activity in southern Queensland, with damaging winds, hail, and intense rainfall impacting large areas of the Darling Downs.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) did not classify the event as a formal aircraft accident investigation, as the damage was caused by extreme weather conditions rather than operational activity.
