Incident Overview
Police have charged a 41-year-old man in connection with a fatal crash in Regents Park on Sunday morning, 17 August 2025. The crash claimed the lives of a 33-year-old man and a 4-year-old boy, both from Crestmead, who were known to each other.

Injuries/Fatalities

  • Deceased: 33-year-old man from Crestmead, pronounced dead at the scene
  • Deceased: 4-year-old boy from Crestmead, pronounced dead at the scene
  • Driver: 41-year-old Regents Park man, taken into custody at the scene, not physically injured

Crash Description
According to initial reports, the utility collided with the two pedestrians along Green Road. Both victims died at the scene before emergency responders could assist. Police arrested the driver on site, and he has since been charged.

Charges

  • Two counts of manslaughter

The man has been remanded and is due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on **Monday, 18 August 2025**.

Investigation
The Forensic Crash Unit (FCU) and Logan District Child Protection and Investigation Unit (CPIU) are conducting a joint investigation into the incident.

Witnesses/Appeals
Police are appealing for anyone with dashcam footage or information about the vehicle in the moments before the crash to come forward.
