Police have charged a man following a hit-and-run crash in Burleigh Heads this morning, October 19.
Initial information indicates approximately 1.10am, the driver of a silver Nissan Navara dual cab utility allegedly hit a pedestrian on Goodwin Terrace and did not stop.
Following investigations, a 19-year-old Pimpama man was taken into police custody in Coomera just after 5am.
He has been charged with dangerous operation of vehicle causing grievous bodily harm and failing to remain at incident and render assistance.
The pedestrian, a 28-year-old Deception Bay man, sustained serious injuries and was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
He is expected to appear before Southport Magistrates Court on November 4.
