Forensic Crash Unit officers investigating a fatal vehicle and pedestrian incident that occurred at a school in Durack on Thursday, November 28 are seeking further information and witnesses.

Initial investigations indicate that around 3:30pm, a silver 2006 Nissan Pathfinder was travelling through a carpark on a grass area at the school, near Avocet Street, before colliding with a two-year-old boy.

The boy sustained critical injuries and was later declared deceased at the scene.

The three occupants of the Nissan Pathfinder were physically uninjured.

Officers from the Brisbane Forensic Crash Unit are investigating the circumstances of the crash and are appealing to people who were within the car park area around the time of the incident and are yet to speak to police, to come forward.

Anyone who may have seen the movements of both the Nissan Pathfinder and the two-year-old boy prior to the crash are also asked to come forward.
