Introduction
Two women have tragically died in a horrific head-on collision on Shute Harbour Road in Mount Marlow, Queensland. The accident occurred on Sunday afternoon, leaving six other people injured, one of them critically.
Crash Overview
The fatal crash took place shortly after 1:00 PM on Sunday, August 11th, 2024, on Shute Harbour Road in Mount Marlow. A Nissan Navara traveling east collided head-on with a Toyota Landcruiser traveling in the opposite direction.
Fatalities and Injuries
Two women, aged 60 and 35, who were occupants of the Nissan Navara, tragically lost their lives at the scene. The male driver of the Nissan was transported to the hospital in critical condition. A male passenger from the same vehicle also received medical treatment.
In the Toyota Landcruiser, two men and two women sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were also taken to the hospital.
Investigation
Queensland Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
