Incident Overview

Police Investigation
Queensland Police and Forensic Crash Unit officers are examining:

  • The precise sequence of events leading to the head-on collision between the two heavy vehicles.
  • The mechanical condition of both vehicles and whether roadworks or local traffic conditions contributed.
  • Any available dashcam or CCTV footage from motorists travelling the D’Aguilar Highway near Blackbutt at the time of the crash.

The deaths of two truck drivers have deeply shaken Queensland’s trucking and rural communities. Adam “Hoffy” Hopf, a well-known fuel delivery driver, is being remembered as a father of two, a respected operator, and a familiar face in small towns across southeast Queensland.
