Introduction
A heartbreaking revelation has emerged about a recent fatal crash in Yalgoo, Western Australia. The three victims, a 33-year-old mother, her nine-week-old baby boy, and a 21-year-old woman, were returning home from a funeral when the accident occurred, leaving the community in deep mourning.

Crash Overview
The tragic incident happened on Saturday night, August 10th, 2024, on Geraldton-Mount Magnet Road near Yalgoo. The family was traveling in a Toyota Hilux that rolled over around 10:50 PM.

Fatalities and Injuries
The mother, the infant, and the young woman tragically lost their lives at the scene. Three other occupants of the vehicle were rushed to Royal Perth Hospital with severe injuries. A 22-year-old man remains in critical condition, while two other men, aged 22 and 43, are stable.

Community Impact
The close-knit communities of Mount Magnet and Geraldton are devastated by this immense loss. Mount Magnet Shire President Jim McGorman expressed his condolences, sharing that the victims were known and loved in the community. WA Premier Roger Cook acknowledged the challenging scene faced by volunteer first responders and offered support to all affected.

The incident brings WA’s road death toll to a concerning 114 for the year, the highest at this point in over a decade. Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash, and the community is grappling with the profound impact of this tragedy.
