A teenager has died and another has sustained life-threatening injuries following a collision between a Mitsubishi Lancer and a semi-trailer on the Bruce Highway at Mount Pleasant early on Saturday, 15 November. Two 18-year-old men were travelling southbound when their vehicle struck a truck turning onto Sams Road shortly after 1am. One occupant died at the scene, while the second was rushed to Mackay Base Hospital with severe head injuries. The truck driver was uninjured. Police and emergency services remain at the scene as investigations continue.
