Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious traffic crash at Paddington this morning where a woman was struck by a garbage truck, sustaining critical injuries.

Preliminary investigations suggest the 31-year-old female pedestrian was crossing Elizabeth Street just before 9am when she was struck by the truck turning right from Nash Street.

She sustained significant injuries and was transported to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.

Investigators from the Forensic Crash Unit are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or have relevant dashcam vision from the area at the time of the incident, to come forward.
