Incident Overview

A devastating multi-vehicle crash on the Great Western Highway in Sydney’s west has resulted in the death of a motorbike rider. The incident occurred around 12:30 pm on Tuesday, September 10th, 2024, and involved two motorcycles and a car.

Details of the Prospect Crash

The collision took place on the Great Western Highway in Prospect. Tragically, one of the male motorbike riders was pronounced dead at the scene. The other rider and the driver of the car were transported to Westmead Hospital for treatment.

Road Closures and Traffic Delays

As a result of the crash, all westbound lanes of the Great Western Highway at Prospect remain closed, and two of the four eastbound lanes are also closed. Motorists traveling westbound are being diverted via Blacktown Road and can use Prospect Highway and Ponds Road to return to the Great Western Highway. Live Traffic NSW is advising motorists to exercise caution and allow for extra travel time in the area due to the significant delays.
