The collision involved a car and a ute. The driver of the car, a woman believed to be in her 40s, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene after being trapped in the wreckage. The driver of the ute, a man in his 30s, and his two young passengers, aged one and six, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle.
