Incident Overview

On Friday night, September 27, 2024, a tragic two-vehicle collision occurred on the Newell Highway, approximately 30 kilometers southwest of Dubbo, New South Wales. Four people lost their lives in the crash.

Details of the Crash

Emergency services were called to the scene around 9:20 PM. The collision involved two vehicles. Two teenagers, aged 18 and 19, were tragically killed in one vehicle. In the other vehicle, a 57-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman also lost their lives. The driver of one of the vehicles, a 23-year-old male, sustained suspected leg injuries and was taken to Dubbo Hospital.

Road Closure and Investigation

The Newell Highway was closed in both directions to allow for police investigations. Diversions were put in place, but some were not suitable for heavy vehicles. A crime scene has been established, and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
