The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating following a fatal traffic crash near the Catfish Creek Bridge on the Dawson Highway in Wooderson overnight, April 3.
Initial investigations indicate just after 5.30pm, a station wagon, travelling west along the Dawson Highway, veered onto the opposite side of the road and hit a truck, travelling east.
The driver of the wagon, a 70-year-old Wooderson woman, died from her injuries at the scene.
An uninjured dog that was located inside the vehicle was taken to a nearby veterinary clinic.
The driver of the Prime Mover, towing b-double fuel tankers, was the sole occupant of the truck and was not injured.
The crash closed the highway in both directions; however, it has since reopened.
Investigations are continuing.
Anyone with information about the crash is urged to contact police.
