A 48-year-old Pimpama man has passed away following a single motorcycle traffic crash in the Gold Coast hinterland today (January 29).

Preliminary information indicates the man was travelling on Tamborine Oxenford Road through Wongawallan around 5pm when he lost control of the motorcycle and crashed.

The rider was declared deceased at the scene.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash. Anyone who may have witnessed the moments leading up to the crash or has dash cam footage is asked to contact police.
