A 17-year-old girl has died following a fatal two-vehicle traffic crash in Myrtlevale on Friday, October 11.

Around 3.25pm, a truck and Holden Barina were travelling along the Bruce Highway when they crashed.

The driver and sole occupant of the Holden Barina, a 17-year-old Adromache girl, sustained critical injuries and was transported to Townsville Base Hospital, where she has since passed away.

The driver of the truck, a 52-year-old Burdell man, was not physically injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
