The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating following a fatal single-vehicle traffic crash at Image Flat last night, June 25.

Initial investigations indicate that around 11:50pm, a 16-year-old boy was struck by a hatchback vehicle travelling along Image Flat Road.

Emergences services arrived at the scene a short time later, with the boy being transported in a critical condition to Nambour Hospital, where he was later declared deceased.

The driver and single occupants of the vehicle, a 24-year-old woman, was not physically injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash and are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed or may have dashcam/CCTV of the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
