A motorcyclist has died and another remains in a critical condition after a crash in Burpengary late Sunday afternoon.

It will be alleged the two motorcyclists were travelling south on Old Gympie Road at 5.25pm when they have collided with a sedan travelling in the opposite direction.

One of the cyclist, a 57-year-old man, died at the scene and the other, a 60-year-old man, was transported to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the sedan, a 31-year-old Eumundi man, has been charged with dangerous driving causing death, driving under the influence of liquor or a drug, driving whilst suspended, possession of a dangerous drug (Psilocybin) and possession of drug utensil (glass pipe).

He will appear before the Maroochydore Magistrates Court today, May 22.
