A man has died following a two vehicle traffic crash in Acacia Ridge this morning, Wednesday December 21.

Preliminary information indicates around 11am a white 1993 Toyota Hilux utility was travelling north along Beaudesert Road near C.A O’Sullivan park when a collision occurred with a white 2009 Ford Territory Station wagon travelling in the same direction.

The crash forced the utility beneath a yellow safety rail where the vehicle came to rest on a storm water drain, entrapping its two occupants.

The driver of this vehicle, an 87-year-old Acacia Ridge woman sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital. A passenger in this vehicle, an 87-year-old Acacia Ridge man subsequently died from his injuries in hospital this afternoon.

The driver and sole occupant of the station wagon, a 72-year-old Hillcrest man was located on Beaudesert Road, near the intersection of Kerry Road a short time later.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the area around the time of the incident to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
