Incident Overview
An elderly man has died following a collision between a mobility scooter and a car in Upper Coomera, Queensland, on the afternoon of Monday, 11 August 2025.

Injuries/Fatalities

  • Deceased: 85-year-old male mobility scooter rider from Upper Coomera – transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died
  • Uninjured: 43-year-old male driver of the Hyundai Santa Fe – returned a negative roadside breath test

Crash Description
Preliminary investigations indicate both the Hyundai Santa Fe and the mobility scooter were travelling north along Heathwood Drive when they collided. The impact caused severe injuries to the mobility scooter rider, who later succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

Investigation
The Forensic Crash Unit is conducting investigations to determine the exact circumstances of the crash. Authorities have appealed for any witnesses or individuals with dashcam/CCTV footage from the area at the time to contact police.
