The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred in Duckinwilla, near Howard, this morning.

Initial investigations indicate at approximately 6.45am, a van was travelling along Duckinwilla Road when it left the roadway and crashed into a tree.

The crash caused the van to ignite and become engulfed in fire.

Upon the arrival of emergency services, the driver and sole occupant was located deceased within the vehicle.

Investigations are underway to identify the driver.

Any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision is urged to contact police.
