A man has died following a fatal truck crash at Clagiraba this afternoon (March 8).

Initial investigations indicate around 1.30pm, a truck was travelling along Henri Robert Drive when it left the roadway and went down an embankment near King Parrot Court.

The driver, a man in his 30s, sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.

The passenger, a 23-year-old Brisbane City man, was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision from the area to come forward.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
