Police are seeking witnesses and dashcam footage following a fatal traffic crash at Deception Bay last night.

Initial information indicates shortly after 9pm a sedan and a 4WD collided at the intersection of Deception Bay Road and Webster Road.

A 24-year-old Gympie man, the front passenger in the sedan was transported to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with critical injuries and later passed away.

A 28-year-old Margate woman sedan, and three children who were passengers in that car were all transported to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the 4WD, a 34-year-old Scarborough man, received minor injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit investigation is ongoing.
