The crash occurred on the North West Coastal Highway between Karratha and Roebourne around 6:25 pm on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, near the intersection of Cleaverville Road. Police allege Joash Alec Green was driving a Holden Captiva westward when he collided head-on with a Toyota Hilux driven by a woman. A male passenger in the Captiva, aged in his 50s, died at the scene. Mr. Green was injured and taken to the hospital.

Charges and Court Appearance

On Friday, September 6, police charged Mr. Green with manslaughter and dangerous driving occasioning bodily harm. He appeared in Karratha Magistrate’s Court and was remanded in custody. The case has been adjourned until October 30, when he will appear in the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court.
