The crash happened around 8:00 am on the southbound lanes of the Princes Highway at Waterfall, just past the train station. This section of the Princes Highway is a major arterial road connecting Sydney to Wollongong and the South Coast, and the crash occurred during the morning peak hour, impacting traffic flow.

Crash Description

A female cyclist in her 70s was riding on the Princes Highway when she was struck by a car. The specific details of how the crash occurred are not yet available, as the incident is under investigation.  

Injuries/Fatalities

The cyclist died at the scene despite the efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics. The 23-year-old female driver of the car was not physically injured but was taken to Sutherland Hospital for mandatory testing.
