Introduction
A six-year-old child from Winter Valley has tragically lost their life in a two-vehicle crash in Lucas, near Ballarat. The incident occurred on Saturday night and left three others injured.
Crash Overview
The fatal collision happened on Saturday, August 10th, 2024, just after 7:00 PM on Ballarat-Carngham Road, near Finchs Road in Lucas. A silver Mazda sedan, carrying three occupants, collided with a white Toyota Prado.
Fatality and Injuries
Sadly, a six-year-old child, a passenger in the Mazda, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 13-year-old passenger and the 41-year-old female driver, both from Winter Valley, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Toyota Prado, a 78-year-old man from Haddon, also sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized.
Investigation
Victoria Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. The exact cause of the collision is yet to be determined.
