Police investigating a hit and run traffic crash in Benowa last night, Saturday March 4 are appealing for public assistance to identify the driver and vehicle involved.

Initial investigations indicate around 8.30pm a silver Mercedes was driving erratically and at speed near the Corner of Benowa Road and Lambros Drive before a collision occurred with an e-scooter ridden by two teenagers.

The girl and boy, both aged 16, sustained minor injuries and were transported to hospital for treatment.

The driver fled the scene without offering assisting to the pair.

Investigators believe the vehicle would have sustained significant left side panel damage including missing a mirror and appeal to the driver, or anyone with further information to come forward. Anonymous reports can be made.

Police also appeal to witnesses, especially those with relevant dashcam or CCTV to make contact.
