Incident Overview
A tragic school bus crash occurred on the Hamilton Highway at Stonehaven, west of Geelong, on Wednesday morning, August 27, 2025. The bus, carrying 28 students from Christian College Geelong, rolled while turning left from Friend in Hand Road onto the highway. Year 7 student Milla Killeen, 12, suffered critical injuries and died at the scene. Another 16-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while 23 other students and the bus driver sustained a range of minor to moderate injuries.

Milla was remembered as a kind and talented basketball player with an “infectious personality.” The incident has renewed attention on student transport safety and caused widespread sorrow across Geelong and Victoria.
